Gourmet Food & Wine Sales
Any person working in or applying for the above position
possess the following characteristics: |

- Demonstrated one or more years of experience in retail/food industry with exposure to and knowledge base of fine wine and imported Beers.
- Brings to the position a creative eye for merchandising product and cases.
- Maintain a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service.
- Greet customers upon entry to the store
- Build on existing knowledgeable of wine, specialty beer and gourmet food products, and share knowledge with our customers.
- Build a rapport with customers.
- Use salesmanship to sell the best products of the season.
- Receive, unload, and put away product deliveries
- Check codes, rotate products, and remove out-of-date products from the retail floor.
- Maintain correct department signage and pricing.
- Price and package customer selections per store policy
- Answer customer questions, pair food and wine.
- Help build Wine department from the ground up!
- Assist with sampling program, keeping all sampling areas full, clean, and appealing
- Answer department calls and pages quickly with excellent phone etiquette.
- Perform other duties as assigned by superiors.
- Follow instructions and established procedures.
- Understand customers’ needs and knowledgeably communicate the product line to the customer.
- Perform simple math operations.
- Learn excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with others.
- Understand and complete departmental transfers.
- Must be 21 years or older
- Stand and walk for up to 4 hours without a break.
- Bend and stoop to grasp objects, climb ladders, lift loads, not to exceed 50 pounds unassisted, push and pull carts weighing up to 100 pounds unassisted.
- Visually examine products for quality and signage/labeling for accuracy.

Other Requirements:
The successful candidate for this position must be detail oriented and be willing to work full time (20 - 40 hrs). This candidate should be available to work a varied schedule including weekends, holidays, mornings, and evenings, with a majority of the work occurring on the 11 am to 8 pm shift. Candidates for this position must be drug free. |
