  • Demonstrated one or more years of experience in retail/food industry with exposure to and knowledge base of fine wine and imported Beers.
  • Brings to the position a creative eye for merchandising product and cases.
  • Maintain a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service.
  • Greet customers upon entry to the store
  • Build on existing knowledgeable of wine, specialty beer and gourmet food products, and share knowledge with our customers.
  • Build a rapport with customers.
  • Use salesmanship to sell the best products of the season.
  • Receive, unload, and put away product deliveries
  • Check codes, rotate products, and remove out-of-date products from the retail floor.
  • Maintain correct department signage and pricing.
  • Price and package customer selections per store policy
  • Answer customer questions, pair food and wine.
  • Help build Wine department from the ground up!
  • Assist with sampling program, keeping all sampling areas full, clean, and appealing
  • Answer department calls and pages quickly with excellent phone etiquette.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by superiors.
  • Follow instructions and established procedures.
  • Understand customers’ needs and knowledgeably communicate the product line to the customer.
  • Perform simple math operations.
  • Learn excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with others.
  • Understand and complete departmental transfers.
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Stand and walk for up to 4 hours without a break.
  • Bend and stoop to grasp objects, climb ladders, lift loads, not to exceed 50 pounds unassisted, push and pull carts weighing up to 100 pounds unassisted.
  • Visually examine products for quality and signage/labeling for accuracy.
 

Other Requirements:

The successful candidate for this position must be detail oriented and be willing to work full time (20 - 40 hrs).  This candidate should be available to work a varied schedule including weekends, holidays, mornings, and evenings, with a majority of the work occurring on the 11 am to 8 pm shift.  Candidates for this position must be drug free.
